Rwanda’s flag, adopted in 2001, consists of three horizontal stripes. The top stripe is light blue, symbolizing peace, and twice the size of the other two – occupying the entire upper half of the banner. The lower two stripes, equal to each other in size, are yellow – representing mineral wealth (middle stripe), and green – indicative of natural resources (bottom stripe).
